Restrictions eased for fully vaccinated travellers from USA and EU to Great Britain.
Fully vaccinated travellers coming to England, Scotland and Wales from the USA and European countries (aside from France) will no longer need to quarantine on arrival. The change, which comes into effect from 4am on Monday 2nd August, will apply to anyone who has had a full course of an FDA or EMA-approved vaccine. Currently there are four EMA-approved vaccines (Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Janssen) and three approved by the FDA (PfizerBioNTech, Moderna and Janssen). This means travellers who have had a different vaccine, such as Sputnik V or Novavax, will still need to quarantine.
Travellers will still need to take either a lateral flow or PCR test pre-departure and a PCR test on the second day after they arrive.
Under-18s will be exempt from isolation, and some will not have to test, depending on their age.
